Day In The Life Of: Live-in Care Recruitment Manager

Hello! I’m Lynnsey and I am the Recruitment Manager at Access Care. I am responsible for managing the Recruitment Department and registering all of our wonderful carers with the agency. Emma and Olivia work in my team and collectively, we ensure that all the carers that come to register with us are stringently vetted, so that we and our clients have confidence that we’re introducing the very best carers.

It's really important to me and my team that we get to know our carers very well, so that we can find out all about their care experience, qualifications, hobbies and interests. This way we can do our job properly and match them to the right client, so they can care for the clients individual needs and requirements, and also build a good rapport and relationship by having things in common and shared interests. We get to learn all about our carers by inviting them to a Registration Day, here at our office in Andover, Hampshire. I am usually the carers first point of contact when they’re getting in touch with Access Care. Initially, I will spend time talking to the carers on the phone, so I can understand fully what they’re looking for and how I can help them. I will also establish at this stage what experience and qualifications they have. If they’re a suitable match for Access Care, then I will invite them to attend a Registration Day.

A typical week for me involves the following:

• Contacting all the carer enquires that come into the business through various channels, such as, phone calls, website enquiries, email and live chat on our website

• Planning and preparing for the monthly Registration Days and Training Courses that we hold at our office in Andover, Hampshire

• Overseeing the whole Recruitment Department to ensure everything is running smoothly and efficiently

• Ensuring all our carers fully meet our stringent recruitment checks, so we can be confident that we’re introducing the finest cares to our clients

• Working closely with my team to ensure we’re delivering the best customer service to all our carers. It’s incredibly important that we all work efficiently and effectively, so that we can fully complete our carers registrations as soon as possible, to enable them to start work with clients that they’re a really good match for.

I am very proud of the work my team do and the overall excellent customer service that we provide as an agency to both our carers and clients. The best part of my role is meeting all the carers on the Registration Days. It’s really lovely to meet everyone face to face and spend the day getting to know them properly. For me and my team, it is incredibly rewarding to receive wonderful feedback from the carers that come here to join our agency. We always receive feedback about how professional, organised, fun, friendly and efficient the Access Care live-in care team are!
